Ah the luxury of an Amtrak bedroom! This shows the view to the right from the double seat that faces forward. Out of view to the left is the “tower” – that’s the “toilet shower” – you literally get a shower head over the toilet. But hey, clean’s clean.

The seat folds down into a double bed (which will be prepared for you by your car attendant on a night train, thanks Ryan). And up above you is another seat that folds down into a single. You could squeeze 3 adults or perhaps 2 adults 2 kids into one of these rooms, but when you’re travelling by yourself, you can just spread out in comfort! Or relative comfort if you can get used to the noise and the rocking…
