You won’t find much at the station in Greenwood, Mississippi but after a night on the train, you’ll be grateful to get some fresh air.

Greenwood is about half way between Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi – if you’re coming from Chicago, you’ll be in Memphis some time around 6am.

The overnight trains won’t stop at every station but you’ll get a warning over the intercom and should definitely take advantage of getting off for a few minutes whenever possible. This is also a good chance to get chatting to your fellow train buddies – which if you’re travelling alone and have a bedroom, may be the first interaction you’ll have had in hours!
