If you ever have the choice, always take a bedroom when travelling for a long time by Amtrak train (I mean 8 hours +. Ok, 6 hours).
If you’re on an overnighter, prepare to get all excited when you come back from dinner to find your bed lovingly made up for you. And then wait 5 minutes after lying down to go to sleep to start wishing we could just make trains that didn’t make any noise.
Apart from that, the full Amtrak bedroom is generally a winner!
